1. Kristin finished her paaaaaaaainting, and it's awesome! Clickyclicky! Bask in the pretteh! 2. Jimmy's friend canceled on him at the last minute and I got to go to see Save the World with him, which was cute and inventive! Lots of great dialogue. They managed to do a lot with a very low budget. (And no, contrary to what the article says, Jossverse hat-trick Jonathan Woodward was alas not a part of the cast. His replacement was quite good, though.) Thank you, Jimmy! 3. Last night, who would come to my roommate's dinner but IANA. Iana was an exchange student from Bulgaria who was in several of my classes, participated in JETS, and ended up staying with my family over the first half of Christmas break. I knew she went to Amherst undergrad, but we never really kept in touch after she went home. Turns out it was my roommate's family that she spent the second half of Christmas break with, and they did keep in touch! Now she's working here in Manhattan at an investment banking firm. Man, what is it about New York that calls forth all the Hockadaisies? 4. Friday, I finally brought my TV!Bob drawing off the back burner and up to the forefront of my list of priorities! I started it waaaaay back in July as a prize for the Save Harry campaign, but what with the move and the overtime and the new computer, I got a bit derailed. Upon looking at it again on Friday, I was promptly horrified with the quality of the line art, and I spent much of the weekend shifting around proportions in Photoshop or re-drawing the portions that needed it. Today, I'm SO EXCITED about it. This is definitely a piece I'm going to be proud of! I can't wait to (re)start coloring. 5. Who is Your Ideal TV Boyfriend?  Priscilla said at 5:08 PM

The Dresden TV show was brought back as an animated show, made by Launch (the studio where I work). It was an evil delight to keep the secret from the little fanlets. At the great announcement, I got to hang out with Jim and Shannon and the guys from Flight of the Conchords. Then Jim started writing Torchwood/Firefly crossover scripts for a comic, in which Jack was delighted by Wash and Zoe's healthy sex life. I blame last night's white bean curry. There was something unusual about Heath Ledger. For some reason, I would often forget how much I liked him, only remembering when I was actually watching one of his movies. His Teen Beat good looks made me want to lump him in with the other teeny bopper hearthrobs, until I saw him in action and the misconception was removed once again. I only watched a handful of his movies--Ten Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, Cassanova, and Brokeback Mountain--and I was really excited about seeing him in Batman. Every time I saw him, it was like rediscovering something wonderful. He will be missed.

A brief recap: Testerday, Kristin came over and drew me for her painting class. As I posed, I watched Who Framed Roger Rabbit?, which I haven't seen since I was ikkle and tiny. Hilaaaaaaarious! Nightmare-inducing, but hilarious. It made me long for more 2D-animated features. Saturday, we went to Dr. Sketchy's together. This session had an Adams' Family theme, and a splendid time was had by all! I now officially have a Dr. Sketchy's buddy. :D This past week, I finally was able to sign my two-year contract at work. Project Runway. So... do the judges even remember their prom? You don't want you look cute and young and 17, you want to look mature and elegant. Sweet Pea should have won! The only dresses I would have worn to prom were hers or Chris'. Victorya's = Fug. Well, it's cute, but it's also cheap-looking and unflattering. While it may be a decent choice for a mixer or party, it is NOT appropriate for a prom!
Also, I feel so terribly wicked for thinking this, but even though I loathe Christian and want to slap him in the face whenever I see him, I kind of want him to stay on the show for the time being (though leave well before Bryant Park). Yes, his clothes are often rather interesting--albeit TRAGICALLY 80s--but he makes such a lovely TARGET for the natural drama of competition, and we need someone to mock now that Elisa is gone. P.S. WOAH. You know that Levi's ad that has the guy struggling to pull up his jeans, then with his jeans comes the entire street, a taxi cab, and a hot girl in a telephone booth? I just saw a variation with the exact same footage, except it's a HOT GUY IN THE BOOTH. And they are cute and gay and Levi's is MADE OF WIN. I am so thrilled with them for doing this. ROCK ON.

The WGA and United Artists have agreed to sign an interim deal, allowing striking feature writers to begin work for the studio -- and opening the door for other indies such as the Weinstein Co. and Lionsgate to follow suit. Though apparently this is just the older episodes, because all the advertisements for season 2 say it'll be on USA) and CBS is considering airing a cleaned-up version of the Showtime hit Dexter. Dexter? Cleaned up? BAHAHAHA. The show would be five minutes long! Deb would just be one prolonged BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP. Come to think of it, I would pay money to see Cleaned-Up Dexter. In a similar vein (ha!), "This time there will be Torchwood for everyone as BBC2 will also air a “kid friendly” version cut down to remove any post-watershed worthy scenes." Space is airing the full two-hour unaired Dresden Files pilot this Saturday at 8 pm.
