Though exhausting, today was a great day. As I've probably mentioned already, I'm in a Yoga class for P.E., and today we talked about Yom Kippur and forgiveness. I happen to share the class with Rachel B, who was my best friend all through middle school. However, in 8th grade, there was a big nasty breakup, leaving us both incredibly depressed, friendless, and hurt. Last year, we patched up and we've gotten to be friends again. Today, all during Ms. Childers' talk, we mouthed "I'm sorry" and other such phrases across the room. When she dismissed the class, we got up and hugged for nearly an entire minute. Even though I was no longer bearing a grudge against Rachel, it still felt like a huge weight was lifted off my chest. I think Yom Kippur is my new favourite holiday. Why don't more religions have a special week for forgiveness?
Another great thing that happened today was my weekly meeting with Mr. Dubsky. Mr. Dubsky is my Applied Calculus teacher and an absolute genius. He easily one of my favourite teachers at the school. Anyway, today he decided to talk to me and Chungy about Chaos theory. It was fascinating! We did all these groovy things on our calculators and read from a book on Chaos by James Gleick. He told us about a man (whose name I can't recall at the moment) studying the possible links of chaos theory to Tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Mr. Dubsky and the man who remains unnamed are currently doing research on the subject, and Dubsky wants Chungy and me to join him! ::giddy smile:: This is going to be fabulous! What a happy day! Now I'm ready to go to sleep. Priscilla said at 10:00 PM Title cartoon by Bruce Eric Kaplan, used without permission. |
