Hurrah, happy birthday to Nancy! Everyone gathered at my house at 9, and... well, everyone was supposed to gather at my house at 9. Mackenzie arrived at 9, then we spent the next hour walking aimlessly about my house, talking about random stuff. Finally, around 10, Nancy arrived, toting her new guitar (a birthday present from her parents). Before she arrived, Mackenzie and I turned off the lights and unlocked the door. As Nancy approached the door, Mackenzie hid and I opened the door, quickly hiding behind it. The effect was like that of a haunted castle in a horror movie. Just fabulous! The door swings open... no one is there... much fun. We tried the same effect when Chungy arrived 10 minutes later, but she was not fooled. She ran into the house frantically, screaming about her steaming car. Something's messed up in her radiator. After dealing with such problems, we went to Blockbuster (seranaded by the second Moulin Rouge soundtrack -- go me!) to rent some movies. I was really wanting to see "Atlantis" again, as they were playing the movie on all 70 thousand screens at the Virgin Megastore when my dad and I went CD shopping earlier, but I didn't let on. I was trying to think of some cunning way to suggest it, such as "Hey, 'The Emperor's New Groove' is such an amusing movie, let's watch something animated!". Right as I was about to open my mouth, Chungy shouts "Let's watch 'Atlantis'!". Much amusement. In addition to "Atlantis", we also picked up "Fight Club" and "Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels". About 10 minutes into "Atlantis", Marcelina arrived. Christine arrived about 30 minutes after that. Hurrah! I got much amusement out of occasionally referring to Milo as "Percy".

Marcelina: Who is that?
Me: Princess Mononoke!

(upon meeting the crew)
Me: Aw, a ship full of token minorities.

(after the attack from the Leviathan)
Marcelina: Wait! Is the Russian guy all right?
Me: He's an established character and he has a name. He can't die!
Nancy: It's not like he's a redshirt or anything.

(when Kida walks on water)
Marcelina: It's Jesus!
Chungy: It's not Jesus, Jesus was cooler than that!
Nancy: Oh, I'm not so sure about that.
Chungy: He could heal the sick!
Me: She healed his Harry Potter scar...
Chungy: He healed a blind man!
Marcelina: She could heal her daddy!
Me: Yeah, and Jesus didn't look that good in a bikini.
Chungy: She looks like a.... a loose woman!
Me: Yeah? And Jesus hung out with prostitutes, so there.

After that, we watched "Fight Club", which was a heck of a lot better than I thought it would be. The filmography at the beginning was awesome. From the previews, I thought it was going to be idiotic, so I was pleasantly surprised. Hurrah! I understand so many more inside jokes now. Last year, some of the Bio students had to write an essay: "I am Joe's cell". ::snickers:: Also, one of the questions in a fill-in-the-blank online quiz thing was "Do you know what a duvet is?". Oh, I feel intelligent now. Go me! Anyway, Nancy, Marcelina, and Christine had to leave after "Fight Club", so it was down to just me, Chungy, and Mackenzie. I went to sleep while they watched the third movie. Anyway, a merry time was had by all. Good stuff. Yay!
