"Lilo and Stitch" sounds awesome, but why is Disney so emphatic about moving away from animated musicals? It seems like the only musicals they're making now are idiotic sequels. The Little Mermaid 2, Cinderella 2, Peter Pan 2, Pocahantas 2, Lady and the Tramp 2, Hunchback of Notre Dame 2, The Lion King 2, Aladdin 2 and 3... good Percy. I adored "The Emperor's New Groove", and I was thoroughly amused by "Atlantis", but this lack of musicalness bothers me. Heck, "Mulan" only had four songs! And "Fantasia: 2000" doesn't count. Are all the little kiddies of today going to grow up without knowing what it's like to experience a brand-new, original, bona fide Disney musical? Absolute rubbish. Give me my musicals, darnit. Life goes on without Howard Ashman.
